Transferring Seating and Orders by Moving Table

When adjusting the graphical layout of a restaurant, you can transfer seated guests and their orders to another dining table by moving the dining table adjacent to the desired dining table.

The dining area contains a setup that defines what happens when a dining table with seating or an order is moved close to another dining table and "dropped" there. This is defined on the Dining Area Card with these fields:

Adjac. Drop Tbl. w/Seating

Adjac. Drop Tbl. w/Trans.

To transfer seated guests

Here the Adjac. Drop Tbl. w/Seating field is set to Transfer Check-Tbl. Back.

  1. Run the POS Windows client with a restaurant that has a dining area that is set up with graphical dining table layout.
  2. Click Logon and logon to the POS.
  3. Click Adjust Tables. Note: This command may be on a manager menu.
  4. Click a seated dining table.
  5. While holding down the primary mouse button, move the mouse close to a dining table to which you want to transfer the seated guests. The distance should be ca. 1, 2 millimeters.
  6. Release the primary mouse button. If you are close enough to the master table, the program will ask whether you want to transfer the guests seated to the new dining table.
  7. Click Yes.

The program transfers the seating information to the new dining table and moves the original dining table back to its original position.

To transfer seated guests and their order

Here the Adjac. Drop Tbl. w/Trans. field is set to Transfer Check-Confirm Joining.

  1. Click Adjust Tables. Note: This command may be on a manager menu.
  2. Click a seated dining table where the guests have already placed an order.
  3. While holding down the primary mouse button, move the mouse close to a dining table to which you want to transfer the guests. The distance should be ca. 1, 2 millimeters.
  4. Release the primary mouse button. If you are close enough to the master table, the program will ask whether you want to transfer the orders to the new dining table.
  5. Click Yes. The program asks whether you want to join the two dining tables.
  6. Click No since you only want to transfer the order, not join the dining tables.

The program has now transferred the orders on the original dining table to the new table. The original dining table is in the position where you left it. You can move it back to the desired location.
